Banners could siphon money back to the giving co-owner: I give to a Banner which then gives the money back to me.

Some may look suspicious. For example, a Banner may exist to support kids with cancer. Later a co-owner’s kid ends up with cancer and indirectly benefits from the fund collected through the Banner. In this case, there’s no foul play, just very unfortunate circumstances.

In the case of a truly siphoning Banners, we could try to stop it by making rules. But, then we’d have to police for compliance and even make more onerous rules, etc.

No Rules

Rule making is not a solution, at least not a Radical solution. “Rules” are,

• A form of (mild) violence, We will have to penalize you because YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES.
• A form of “power over” people which also includes violence, According to the rules, you are not fit to be a beneficiary of this Banner”.

The Radical Solutions

The Radical solution seems to be to disclose all Banner beneficiaries and let the co-owners deal with maladapted Banners. This also feels like the most effective solution.
