According to Seth Godin, The alternative [to compliance] isn’t freedom. It’s responsibility.^∇ I would say that the alternative to compliance is commitment. This is in fact what he describes later, What matters is our willingness willingness to see what’s happening and to sign up to do something about it.

He also says that Compliance is seductive because it comes with short-term prizes. … The center of the herd may in fact be safer, but the view is terrible.So true!
